The global security industry continues to evolve rapidly, moving beyond traditional, reactive surveillance toward intelligent, AI-powered and data-driven systems. At Intersec Dubai 2026, Axis Communications demonstrated how this shift is taking shape in real-world environments, showcasing technologies designed to support smarter decision-making, improved operational efficiency, and enhanced safety across critical industries.
Held from 12 to 14 January at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the 27th edition of Intersec brought together government leaders, technology providers, partners, and industry experts from around the world. For Axis Communications, the event provided an opportunity to demonstrate how innovation at the edge is redefining the role of security technologies across the Middle East, Africa, Türkiye, and Central Asia.
Advancing intelligence at the edge
A key theme throughout Axis’s presence at Intersec 2026 was the growing demand for systems that do more than monitor. Organisations increasingly require solutions that analyse data in real time, generate actionable insights, and support faster, more informed responses.
“Across the Middle East and Africa, surveillance is no longer viewed purely as a protective measure,” said Loubna Imenchal, Regional Director for Middle East and Africa at Axis Communications. “It is becoming a critical source of intelligence that supports operational efficiency, resilience, and smarter decision-making. At Intersec, we demonstrated how intelligence at the edge is enabling this shift across industries.”
Axis showcased a portfolio of network devices built to function as advanced edge-computing platforms, capable of processing data directly at the source. These solutions reduce latency and bandwidth requirements while delivering high-quality analytics and insights in real time.
Highlighted technologies included the AXIS Q6358-LE PTZ Camera, a 4K UHD camera powered by the ARTPEC-9 system-on-chip, offering AI-driven analytics and advanced imaging capabilities for long-range and complex surveillance scenarios. The AXIS Q3558-LVE 8MP Outdoor Network Camera and AXIS P3277-LVE Dome Camera further demonstrated how deep learning, Lightfinder 2.0, and built-in cybersecurity enable reliable performance and analytics in challenging environments.
These innovations build on the ARTPEC-9 platform introduced in late 2024, which enables more efficient edge processing, improved image quality, lower bitrates, and enhanced cybersecurity across Axis’s AI-driven portfolio.
Axis also highlighted its expanding smart sensor offering, including the AXIS D6210, which was awarded the Best Safety Protection Solution at the Intersec 2026 awards, and D6310 Air Quality Sensors, as well as the AXIS Camera Station S1228 Rack AI-Optimised Server, supporting advanced analytics workloads and flexible hybrid deployments.
Creating unified, intelligent security ecosystems
Beyond individual devices, Axis demonstrated how integrated ecosystems combining video, audio, access control, radar, and analytics provide a more complete operational picture. Live demonstrations showed how unified platforms enhance situational awareness while supporting privacy requirements and scalability.
Solutions on display included network audio technologies such as the AXIS C1710 Network Display Speaker, radar-based detection systems, and body-worn solutions designed to support transparency, accountability, and evidence quality in operational environments.
Innovation through an open partner ecosystem
Collaboration remained central to Axis’s presence at Intersec 2026. The company’s open-platform approach enables interoperability with a wide range of technology partners, extending the value of Axis solutions across use cases and industries.
Axis was joined by several partners, including FF Group, recently acquired by Axis Communications, which presented traffic solutions alongside Axis technologies. Other partners included icetana, CamStreamer, WaterView, PowerStack, and Hitachi Digital Services, each demonstrating how their expertise integrates with Axis solutions to address complex operational and security challenges.
“Meaningful innovation happens through collaboration,” added Imenchal. “Our open ecosystem allows us to work closely with partners to bring new capabilities to market and deliver solutions that respond to real-world needs.”
Supporting resilient and sustainable environments
Throughout the exhibition, Axis highlighted how its technologies support high-impact sectors such as critical infrastructure and smart city environments. Key focus areas included improving total cost of ownership through long-life, energy-efficient products; strengthening cybersecurity through secure-by-design principles; and enabling sustainability through responsible innovation.
Axis also contributed to industry dialogue through participation in a panel discussion at the Intersec Access Control Centre, where experts explored emerging technologies and the future of intelligence-driven security.
Looking ahead
Axis’s participation at Intersec Dubai 2026 coincided with its 20th anniversary of operations in the UAE. Over the past two decades, the regional organisation has played a significant role in the transition from analogue to IP-based systems and, more recently, toward cloud, hybrid, and AI-driven architectures.
While reflecting on this milestone, Axis remains focused on the future — continuing to develop intelligent, analytics-enabled technologies that support safer, smarter, and more resilient environments across the region.
