Axis provides an opportunity for service members to gain valuable civilian experience through internship and apprenticeship opportunities across the United States.
Axis Communications, the industry leader in network video technology, is an authorized organization under the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program to recruit and hire transitioning U.S. military service members. As part of this partnership, Axis provides service members the opportunity, through internships and apprenticeships, to gain real-world civilian experience during the last 180 days of active-duty service to facilitate a successful transition.
“When I transitioned from active duty in 2009 at the end of my service, it was a challenging and scary time for me. I was leaving behind a way of life that I had become accustomed to for over 5 years and entering an unknown workforce during one of the worst recessions in our history,” says Michael Albanese, Channel Business Partner, Project Pricing, Axis Communications, Inc. and Axis Communications SkillBridge Program mentor. “I am honored to be a mentor to incoming service members through the SkillBridge Program here at Axis and I wish that when I got out there was a program like this to help alleviate some of the unknowns about transitioning into a civilian career.”
Axis is the first manufacturer in the security industry to become SkillBridge approved and joins leading companies in other industries including Boeing, Amazon and ADP. SkillBridge positions through Axis Communications will be related to sales support, business and finance operations, technical services support, and more. As a growing company within the security industry, Axis Communications is projected to expand its workforce by 10% by the end of 2022, with 5% of its headcount made up of active or retired service members and their spouses.
