The Atlanta Police Foundation, Compass Security Solutions, Genetec, and Axis Communications have been named the Bronze Winner in 16th Annual 2021 IT World Awards® for their collaborative mobile surveillance trailer project.
Axis Communications was recently honored by the Globee® IT World Awards (formerly the Info Security PG Awards) for a collaborative effort with the Atlanta Police Foundation, Compass Security Solutions, and Genetec for their mobile surveillance trailer as the bronze winner in the category of “Best Deployments and Customer Success of the Year in USA.” The Globee® Awards consist of eleven award programs including the IT World Awards® for Information Technology and Cyber Security and is currently in its 16th year. The award recognizes information technology and cyber security vendors with advanced, ground-breaking products, solutions, and services that are helping set the bar higher for others in all areas of technology and cyber security.
The Atlanta Police Foundation commissioned Compass Security Solutions to build four mobile surveillance trailers intended to supplement the permanently installed city surveillance cameras during public events. “The trailers designed by Compass Security are a force multiplier and give us the ability to deploy surveillance equipment quickly to areas that need coverage and provide us with the forensic quality video we’ve come to expect from Axis and Genetec. It’s changed the way we plan for large events and critical incidents,” says Marshall Freeman, Chief Operating Officer, Atlanta Police Foundation.
The self-contained, wireless trailers are easily deployable, rugged, and sustainable. Each trailer is equipped with an Axis pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) network camera with outdoor enclosure and an Axis horn speaker as well as ALPR by Genetec. Solar panels provide power to the equipment for up to five days. Video is transmitted to the city’s Video Integration Center and viewed live by operators. It can also be stored locally and set for immediate alerts in the event of an incident.
