A leader on our business development team, Vincent Campisano joins us as our new host. Vincent brings a passion for human intelligence, security, and technology to the podcast.
In the second episode of season four, The AI Employee: Turning Intercoms into Assistants, Vincent Campisano sits down with Arturo Falck, founder and CEO of Whoo.AI. Together, they explore conversational AI, start-ups, and how people are incorporating technology into their everyday lives.
After 20 years of developing algorithmic trading and managing technology teams for large companies, Arturo began working on what would eventually become Whoo.AI. This Intelligent Assistance platform is designed to help people navigate the world around them while helping businesses gain insight into how they can optimize their operations.
While technology is continuing to evolve, Arturo shares that one of the most important considerations is if people are willing to adopt it. This is especially true for AI in public spaces:
What is interesting is that people still need to get comfortable with artificial intelligence. It takes a little bit [to get] used to it because you're not really dealing with a human. You can't just expect them to have the same type of common sense that you would expect from an employee, but at the same time, they're not really machines. They don't really act like…an old-fashioned computer where you can tell it exactly what to do and specify the exact rules for how you want it to behave. You kind of have to find the in-between balance, where you write to it and you talk to it like you would to a human, but in a way, you [also] have to speak to the AI like it was a child and be very explicit about what you wanted to do or not do, which is surprising because it has so much world knowledge.
In addition to sharing his journey in the start-up world and building innovative new technologies, Arturo shared how he sees humans continuing to be the most important piece:
As we go along and the technology becomes more mature, what becomes more and more valuable is just…what humans are really good at, which is building relationships instead of thinking of businesses as a series of transactions, understanding what your customers need, trying not to fall in love with your technology and instead, make sure that you're bringing value to your customer.
Listen to this and other episodes of “Connect” as we continue to explore intelligent technologies and the power of human imagination.
