Stefan Lundberg, pioneer of the ARTPEC system-on-chip, honored with the Security Innovator Award by Security Business.

Security Business magazine announced the winners of its 2025 Security Business Innovator Awards. The awards, which are 100% peer-nominated, recognize innovative contributions from individuals in the security industry. 

Stefan Lundberg was recognized as a Business Innovator for his transformative contributions to the security industry through his instrumental work in developing the ARTPEC system-on-chip (SoC). SoCs are a vital component in network cameras, and the ARTPEC SoC is specifically designed for professional video surveillance. As the chief architect and steward of the ARTPEC SoC since the 1990s, Stefan has been a driving force behind Axis’ in-house SoC development. His work has contributed to Axis’ continued ability to provide high quality, cybersecure products that meet customer needs. 

Beyond Axis, Stefan’s work has redefined what’s possible in the security industry. The technologies he has helped develop shape today’s industry standards and inspired further advancements across the security industry. His efforts have been a fundamental driver in the entire industry switching from analog to IP. 

From his work on the Neteye 200, the world’s first network camera, to today’s introduction of AV1 into the security industry, Stefan has helped usher in an era of smarter, more efficient, and more secure video solutions.
