Axis Communications announces two additional compact sensor units for AXIS F Modular Camera Series. These indoor sensors offer outstanding 4K image quality, wide-angle 110° horizontal field of view, and good performance even in challenging light.
AXIS F4108 is an ultra-compact dome sensor that blends discreetly into any indoor environment—ideal for retail, banking, and similar applications. The cover can be repainted in any color to blend in with the surroundings. The other product, AXIS F2108, is a compact standard sensor. It’s easy to integrate into machinery, for instance, in ATMs, self-checkouts, and similar applications.
These sensor units are part of AXIS F Modular Camera Series and offer excellent 4K image quality even in challenging light conditions and a 110° horizontal field of view. They deliver a high pixel density and images with great details allowing users to run advanced analytics and quickly perform forensic analysis. When used with AXIS F91 main units, they also support Forensic WDR to ensure clarity when there’s both dark and light areas in the scene.
Based on a divided network camera concept, these sensor units are designed for use with AXIS F Modular Camera Series and connect to the main unit using a detachable cable. This means the two parts can be placed separately from each other, up to 30 m (98 ft) apart. Additionally, because they’re so small, it’s possible to place these sensor units practically anywhere, ensuring discreet and flexible installation.

These compact sensor units offer easy and flexible installation. With various sensor units available, they can be combined with up to three other sensor units within AXIS F Modular Camera Series for great flexibility. The sensors can be spread out from the main unit for large area coverage. Additionally, when maintenance or upgrade is needed, the cable can be left in place and the sensor unit can be updated or replaced as needed. Furthermore, for AXIS F2108, Axis offers a variety of mounting accessories for flexible installation. For instance, AXIS F8212 Trim Ring is available as an accessory for recessed mounting.
