Robust thermal camera for large-scale remote temperature monitoring

AXIS Q2101-TE Thermal Camera

Axis Communications announces the release of a new thermal camera to monitor temperatures. Ideal for patrolling large sites, this dependable thermometric camera lets you remotely monitor temperatures and trigger temperature-based events.

AXIS Q2101-TE can measure temperatures from -40 °C to 350 °C (-40 °F to 660 °F). It can trigger a notification whenever the temperature passes a set threshold, or if the temperature increases or decreases too rapidly. This can help avoid unwanted downtime in production caused by overheating equipment as well as enable predictive maintenance planning. Built on ARTPEC 8, the latest Axis system-on-chip (SoC), this reliable camera offers powerful analytics capabilities. With early fire detection analytics preinstalled, users can set triggers and receive warnings about early signs of fire. Additionally, this analytic also offers smart filtering to reduce false alarms.

This impact-resistant IK10-, NEMA 4X-rated camera can be mounted on a positioning unit to enable a 360° unobstructed field of view. This also enables thermometric guard tour with support for up to 256 presets with 10 polygonal detection areas each. Spot temperature reading acts as a visual aid and makes it possible to see the exact temperature in the specific area. Additionally, it provides access to temperature metadata for statistics and other purposes.

Key features include:

  • Thermometric guard tour capabilities
  • Early fire detection analytics
  • Spot temperature reading
  • Built-in cybersecurity features
  • Support for edge-to-edge technology

This temperature measuring camera includes built-in cybersecurity features to help prevent unauthorized access and safeguard the system. For instance, Axis Edge Vault protects the Axis device ID and simplifies authorization of Axis products on the network. Furthermore, electronic image stabilization (EIS) ensures smooth video even in scenes with vibrations.

The camera will be available through Axis distribution channels in Q2 2023.
