Dual IEC 62676-4 Standard Support in Selected Axis Tools

Lens calculator

Axis Communications announces that its Lens calculator is the first of its tools to offer toggling between the new IEC 62676-4:2025 standard and IEC 62676-4:2014 standard. This offers enhanced flexibility in designing and installing video surveillance systems that meet diverse project requirements and comply with varying standards.

The release in Axis lens calculator allows users to determine the appropriate lens and camera setup based on the preferred pixel density and operational requirements. The advancements in IEC 62676-4:2025 highlight the evolution of video surveillance addressing contemporary security and technology needs. It emphasizes image quality as the primary objective, aligning with Axis Communications focus on image usability and ensuring high-quality images for video analytics and forensics.

In addition to the Lens calculator, Axis provides various tools that employ a pixel density model relating to the operational requirements outlined in IEC 62676-4:2025, IEC 62676-4:2014, or both standards. The current versions of AXIS Site Designer and AXIS Plugin for Autodesk® Revit® support manual entry of pixel density requirements and during 2026 will be enhanced to simplify design and installation of video surveillance systems that meet specific requirements.

With dual IEC 62676-4 support in selected Tools, Axis reaffirms its commitment to support the varied needs and preferences across its global customer base. It ensures partners and customers working in diverse regulatory landscapes will be able to seamlessly transition between standards, ensuring compliance with both evolving and established industry benchmarks, thereby reducing complexity and uncertainty.
