Axis Communications announces the release of two dome cameras specially designed for onboard surveillance. These rugged cameras can withstand shock and vibrations and ensure high-performance in varied light conditions.
Compact and discreet in design, these cameras offer 2 MP resolution. AXIS P3905-R Mk III Dome Camera is specifically designed for onboard monitoring on railway vehicles such as trains and trams and complies with train standards such as EN50155 and EN45545. The other model, AXIS M3905-R Dome Camera, complies with transportation-industry regulations including fire-safety for buses.
These cameras guarantee high-performance even in varied and shifting light conditions. With Forensic WDR, they ensure clarity even when there’s both dark and light areas in the scene. Lightfinder delivers high-quality – color – images recorded in near darkness and clear, sharp images of moving objects. Additionally, they feature traffic light mode so they can distinguish the color of traffic lights in dark scenes. Optional M12 lenses are also available for customized monitoring purposes.
With IP66/67 and IK10 ratings, these onboard dome cameras include either a M12 or RJ45 connector for flexible installations. When used together with AXIS TP3826-E housing, they can be mounted on the outside of a vehicle to withstand tough weather.
Key features include:
- Compact, rugged design
- Models that comply with EN50155
- Lightfinder and Forensic WDR
- Axis Zipstream technology
- Traffic Light mode
These onboard cameras offer built-in cybersecurity features to help prevent unauthorized access and safeguard the system. For instance, Axis Edge Vault protects the Axis device ID and simplifies authorization of Axis devices on the network. Furthermore, Axis Zipstream significantly reduces storage and bandwidth requirements without compromising image quality.
The cameras will be available through Axis distribution channels in Q2 2023.
